With the ever-increasing pressure and requirement to improve processes and reduce costs across all industrial sectors, Value Stream Mapping is a powerful enabler in identifying and addressing these valuable opportunities in any organization’s processes. In particular, it focuses on pinpointing waste in processes. Waste is anything that impedes the flow of a product or service as it is being transformed in the value chain.
Value Stream Mapping is defined as all the actions (both value added and non-value added) required to bring a product/service through the main process flows essential to each one of them. A Value Stream Mapping exercise facilitates the visualization and realization of a future state Value Stream based on comparison with the current state by eliminating the identified wastes.
By attending Value Stream Mapping workshop, delegates will learn to:
- Understand the language and terminology involved in Value Stream Mapping and its linkage to the Lean Enterprise
- Apply the step by step approach deployed in Value Stream Mapping in transitioning from a Current State to a Future State
- Develop detailed implementation plans to realize the future state
This Value Stream Mapping training course is aimed at front line change agents working in the areas of process management, process design or process improvement. It is intended for personnel working to improve processes whether they come from manufacturing, logistics, engineering or purely transactional functions.
