Tinkercad is is a web-based 3D modeling program which is easy to use, free application for 3D design, electronics and coding. This Tinkercad training course focuses on providing a complete knowledge of TinkerCAD and its essential components.
By attending Tinkercad workshop, delegates will learn to:
- Create custom 3D models for use with games, movies, and 3D printing
- Add basic (primitive) shapes such as spheres and boxes to the workspace
- Merge basic shapes to create more complex shapes
- Rotate 3D objects on the workspace and blend them with existing objects
- Create "hole" objects for merging with solid objects to create unique shapes and designs
- Align and stack objects perfectly along an edge or axis
- Apply custom colors to custom 3D objects on the workspace
- Import 3D objects created by other users and use them in participants own designs
- Shrink and enlarge 3D models -- choose metric or US/Imperial measurement system
- Create duplicates of a 3D model or create mirror versions
- Stretch and morph 3D models along three different axes
- Rotate around 3D objects and zoom in and out
- Download 3D models for printing with a 3D printer or a 3D printing service (such as Shapeways or Sculpteo)
- Download 3D models for importing into Minecraft
- Make 3D models private or share them with the world
- Share 3D models with other users using a variety of free online 3D libraries
- Discover tricks and tips for using Tinkercad tools and features by viewing *Example Projects* videos
- Keep up-to-date with new features added to Tinkercad by viewing *New Feature* videos
- Familiar with basic computer skills such as using a mouse, saving files, and navigating folders
- Familiar with 3D printing (and 3D printers) as you will discover that any 3D models created with Tinkercad can be printed with a 3D printer or a 3D printing service (such as Shapeways or Sculpteo)
