This Stibo - MDM Solution Architecture training course provides the information and expertise needed to integrate the STEP Multidomain MDM solution effectively within a customer’s existing IT architecture and validate the overall fitness for purpose of the STEP solution.

By attending Stibo - MDM Solution Architecture workshop, delegates will learn to:

  • Identify the impact of system and application architecture on the STEP solution and guide the design accordingly
  • Produce a STEP integration strategy and design, which implements best practices and satisfies the functional and non-functional integration requirements of the overall solution design
  • Lead the design of business logic using the STEP APIs to implement advanced data processing requirements of the solution design
  • Support the STEP solution design by applying the correct implementation pattern for the master data domains in scope.
  • Identify market trends and technological advances relevant to STEP and MDM
  • Explain STEP's architectural evolution and strategy

  • A broad knowledge of common system and enterprise architecture design patterns and practices.
  • Solid understanding of common industry standards, protocols and technologies, such as XML, REST, HTTP, JMS etc.
  • Previous experience with implementation of enterprise software systems
  • Attend a training on Stibo - MDM Solution Fundamentals or equivalent practical experience.
  • Attend a training on Stibo - MDM Solution Design or equivalent practical experience.

The Stibo - MDM Solution Architecture class is ideal for:

  • Explain how application server, database server, web clients, and workbench clients are configured to meet customer requirements
  • Identify key features of the enterprise application framework used by STEP

Produce a STEP integration strategy and design, which implements best practices and satisfies the functional and non-functional integration requirements of the overall solution design

  • Establish a framework for developing a STEP integration design compliant with the overall integration solution
  • Identify impact of the wider enterprise integration landscape and architecture
  • Determine strategy for ensuring data integrity, object identity and loose coupling in integrations
  • Distinguish use cases for synchronous versus asynchronous integrations
  • Identify applications for Gateway Integration Endpoints
  • Identify applications for Web Services APIs
  • Compare Receiver and Delivery choices for Integration Endpoints: file system, JMS, REST
  • Distinguish use cases for standard message formats in Integration Endpoints, such as XML options and various tabular formats
  • Discuss how to implement non-standard message formats in Integration Endpoints
  • Establish best practices for onboarding and publishing digital assets

  • Discuss nature, scope and domain of the STEP APIs
  • Compare capabilities and use cases of the Extension API with the Public API
  • Relate advanced capabilities of Web Services APIs to solution design
  • Relate advanced capabilities of STEPXML to solution design

Support the STEP solution design by applying the correct implementation pattern for the master data domains in scope

  • Identify Customer MDM key architectural differences versus Product MDM
  • Compare and contrast the STEP features most applicable to Product MDM versus Customer MDM
  • Differentiate role of synchronous and asynchronous integrations in Customer MDM design, compared with Product MDM

Identify market trends and technological advances relevant to STEP and MDM

  • Catalogue emergent business trends and technologies which impact the MDM domain and STEP as an MDM solution provider. Examples: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), Microservices
