HP Connected Backup

The HP Connected Backup training course is an introduction to HP Connected Backup. Attendees will learn the benefits of leveraging Connected Backup and how to install, configure, administer, and support a Connected Backup environment. The course is composed of lectures followed by hands-on practical exercises with each delegates having access to their own Virtual Machine (VM).

By attending HP Connected Backup workshop, Delegates will learn to:

  • Discuss the purpose and benefits of the Connected Backup technology
  • Prepare Delegates environment for Connected Backup
  • Install the Connected Backup Server software
  • Use the Data Center Services and Management Console to store and manage backed up files
  • Troubleshoot issues using the Data Center Management Console (DCMC)
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly Data Center maintenance tasks
  • Use Support Center to create and manage Agent configurations and accounts
  • Use the enterprise directory (LDAP) integration to manage directory services requirements
  • Use Support Center to configure profile and website settings, and applicable Agent settings and Agent versions for a Community
  • Configure Agent Rules for a Community
  • Describe Connected Agent installation and registration options
  • Install and configure applicable Connected Backup Agent software, and use the software to backup and retrieve files
  • Use the Account Management Website to manage backup accounts
  • Use Support Center to manage backup accounts

  • System and Network Administration or equivalent experience is suggested
